This session will review research conducted in the Ghost River Valley in 2016 to provide an overview of patterns of ecological grief. Tying it back to the classroom, we will share stories from our work with Green Calgary, Lord Shaughnessy High School, and Bow Valley College on incorporating language of grief into the classroom. Lastly, the facilitator(s) will help the participants recharge by demonstrating a few methods for grappling with and discussing eco-grief, to transform grief into a vehicle for positive change.
This session is most relevant to divisions 3 and 4, but some of what we talk about will also be relevant to division 2.
